FUTURE is a two-part publication by Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs, which will be published by Edition Patrick Frey over the course of 3 years.
The first publication appears under the title FUTURE MEMORIES and deals with the question of how our idea of the future has changed in the last few decades, how this affects our perception of the present and how we face the coming changes.
The second publication under the title WATER COLUMN is about a place, a realm that directly surrounds us and yet for most people is as distant and strange as only the vastness of space could otherwise be: the world beneath the surface of the water.
Only through the use of complex technology are we able to penetrate deeper into this dimension and explore it. With exploration comes exploitation, and there is a possibility that this world will be destroyed before we even begin to understand it or even see it.
The deep sea is a gigantic projection area that has always stimulated our imagination because everything seems possible in it. Different laws, different rules apply, and there is increasing evidence that we will find our origin there - and probably our end in the form of sediments.
Using a variety of photographic means and inventions, Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs explore this world and create scenarios in which research and fiction inseparably mix.
