Thomas Sauvin is a French artist living in China. Until Death Do Us Part is part of his Silvermine project, an ongoing exploration of contemporary Chinese culture based on an archive of half a million negatives salvaged from a recycling plant on the outskirts of Beijing.
Produced as a replica of a pack of Chinese cigarettes, this miniature book focuses on the unexpected role cigarettes play in Chinese weddings, where, as a token of appreciation, it is customary for the bride to light a cigarette for each and every man invited.
