The work of almost every photographer is essentially determined by two moments. The first is the moment in which the film is made, which can be a coincidence, but also a creative act that is prepared as a result. The second - which is often forgotten - is choosing the "right" shot from the many hundreds of frames in the film, which is no less important and in many ways means hard work. Compared to other media, however, photography is also specific to the need to process works as a whole and to work with the context. This work is perhaps most clearly reflected in what is now referred to as "classic documentary". Jaroslav Pulicar (* 1954) is currently one of the most famous personalities in Czech documentary photography and will balance his more than thirty years of work in the context of the Efemeria exhibition and especially in the book of the same name, which he published in collaboration with the Valchařská Gallery.
