When, almost a decade ago, Patryk Mogilnicki, an illustrator, designer and literature enthusiast, saw a particularly ugly edition of his favourite novel in a bookstore, he shared his frustration on Facebook and founded the website I Would Buy This Book If It Weren’t for the Cover. Within a few days, it gained a large group of die-hard fans: people for whom books are more than content; they are faithful companions in our lives.

It introduces the most important designers, discusses particularly famous and successful projects, and asks some of them in more detail about their work in the industry, their greatest successes, their most painful failures and unrealised projects, many of which can be seen here.
