His photobooks include American, which won first prize at the Fotobookfestival Kassel in 2010, and Kein Morgen (Spector Books), a collection of portraits from 1990s club nights and raves.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis Feels Safe brings together photographs Amann made over three years along the coasts and deserts of California and Mexico. Waves, brightly coloured cacti, rocks and close-up faces of friends lying in the sand appear next to scenes of prayer, beach parties and a military helicopter flying low overhead.
