This photograph is part of Amygdala, a deeply personal project inspired by the amygdala, a small region of the limbic system associated with emotion and memory. At its core lies the question: “Have you ever considered the possibility that no demon is simply a result of happenstance?” The series reflects on the subconscious influences of home, childhood, tradition and the experiences passed down through generations and explores how emotions, memories, fears and personal experiences shape our inner world and remain within us over time. In this self-portrait, the gaze turns inward, exploring the space between conscious perception and the hidden layers of the self.
