Irina Rozovsky is an American photographer, born in Moscow and based in Athens, Georgia. Her books include One To Nothing and In Plain Air, which was also published by MACK.

Mountain Black Heart started in 2014, when Rozovsky woke up in a Serbian mountain village to the sound of a brass band festival. From there she travelled through the Balkans, including Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Croatia, Albania, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece. The photographs show railways, farms, fairgrounds and graveyards, along with portraits of people and animals, and give a personal view of a region still marked by its history.
