William Claxton's legendary JAZZ LIFE, published in Germany 1962, is long out of print. Twenty five years later, William Claxton re-edited his photographs of the jazz greats during the 1950's. Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and all the rest are intimately recorded by this photographer. Included are Claxton's notes on each performer, remembering their friendships, performances and sometimes their deaths.
