“As I did with my last project in Cuba, I tend to take a look free of clichés and commonplaces. Always carried by light, I approach my subjects without documentary or descriptive intention. This is how I began this journey with a first trip that took me for two weeks in the province of Almeria and more particularly in the Tabernas desert. Depopulated landscapes, arid lands, dusty skies, dead trees, a few furtive or indolent animals and surreal and strange presences. This is what the images of this first part are filled with.  Other trips followed in pursuit of other landscapes, emotions and the memory of places, their inhabitants and the search, always, for this light so important to me…” Gilles Roudière
