I took this photo at the original Bass Pro Shop in Springfield, Missouri, after visiting my grandmother for what turned out to be the final time. Growing up, my father and I made yearly pilgrimages to this behemoth, which has expanded to include indoor rivers, buffets, and a museum. It is unlike anything else, yet remains so deeply familiar.
